The Council meets five times each year, usually in February, April, June, October and December, with three of the meetings held in Anchorage, one in a fishing community in Alaska and one either in Portland or Seattle. Most Council meetings take seven days, with the SSC and AP usually following the same agenda and meeting one and two days earlier, respectively.  For more information on the Council process, visit our webpage: Navigating the Process: Overview

All meetings are open to the public, except for an occasional short, closed session in which the Council deals with personnel, administrative, or litigation issues. Minutes taken for each Council meeting are available to the public. VIEW ARCHIVES.

Live Meeting Broadcasts

The Council broadcasts meetings via the internet. The public can access meetings through the Current or Next Meeting page, or watch the meeting streamed live on YouTube.

Post Meeting Audio Files

Starting October 2020, the Council streams its meeting on YouTube and maintains an archive of the Council meetings there. For older audio files, they are stored electronically on a third-party storage site (www.box.net).  Click HERE to access AUDIO files for all meetings through Box.net. Use the time log posted with the audio files to help navigate to the correct file.

We respectfully acknowledge that the Council regularly meets, and its staff office resides, in Anchorage on Dena’ina homelands. The Council wants to honor the Dena’ina, the Indigenous Peoples who have stewarded this land across generations and continue to do so. We are glad to be part of this community, and to honor the culture, resilience, and tradition of the Dena’ina people.
