BSAI Crab Plan Team

The BSAI Crab Plan Team provides the Council with the best available scientific information, including science-based recommendations for the conservation and management of Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands (BSAI) king and Tanner crab fisheries. Additional stock assessment and fishery evaluation information is available on the Council’s Stock Assessment and Fishery Evaluation (SAFE) Reports page. For more information about the Crab Plan Team, including current membership and past activities, please visit the NPFMC Plan Teams Current Membership page and the NPFMC Crab Plan Team Meeting Agendas page.

The Fishery Management Plan includes all species and fisheries for king and Tanner crab (red, blue, and brown king crab, Tanner crab, and snow crab). In-season management of these fisheries is conducted by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G).

Staff contact: Anita Kroska, 907-271-2805.

We respectfully acknowledge that the Council regularly meets, and its staff office resides, in Anchorage on Dena’ina homelands. The Council wants to honor the Dena’ina, the Indigenous Peoples who have stewarded this land across generations and continue to do so. We are glad to be part of this community, and to honor the culture, resilience, and tradition of the Dena’ina people.
