The North Pacific Fishery Management Council announces that Diana Evans will serve as Interim Executive Director, effective November 1, 2025, following the retirement of David Witherell, who has served as Executive Director since 2017.
Diana Evans has been a member of the Council staff since 2000, and currently serves as Deputy Director. During her tenure, she has provided extensive leadership in the Council process, regulatory development, and interagency coordination. Her experience and institutional knowledge will ensure continuity in Council operations and support for the Council, its advisory bodies, and stakeholders throughout this transition period.
The Council extends its appreciation to David Witherell for his dedicated public service and his contributions to the management and stewardship of the fisheries resources of the North Pacific.
