The North Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council) is seeking a Fishery Analyst / Fishery Economist to work in the identification and analysis of economic, social, and environmental issues pertaining to fisheries management off Alaska. This person will participate as part of a team of economic, social, and biological analysts from Council staff and from the staffs of other agencies. This announcement is for a two-year appointment. Extension of the appointment beyond two years may be possible, based on available funding and employee performance.
Primary responsibilities will be to analyze potential economic, social, and/or environmental impacts of proposed regulatory changes in support of Council initiatives to develop and modify management programs for the Federal groundfish and crab fisheries off Alaska. Regulatory and environmental impact analyses are prepared to help the Council develop the best management approaches for these fisheries.
