The North Pacific Fishery Management Council’s Ecosystem Committee will be holding its next meeting on Tuesday, April 04, 2023 from 8:30am – 4:30pm Alaska time, at the Hilton Hotel in Anchorage, Alaska. This will be a hybrid in-person/virtual meeting. Details can be found on the eAgenda. The topic of the meeting will be developing the purpose and need and alternatives for the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS).
The Ecosystem Committee is seeking input on development of a purpose and need and alternatives for a Programmatic EIS. All ideas are welcome and may be provided in any format. A discussion prompt and a Google form can be found on the April Committee meeting eAgenda. The discussion prompt document includes questions to help frame the work on the Programmatic and assist the Committee in developing a purpose and need statement and identification of alternatives for the Council. Feel free to use these questions as a starting place, or provide your ideas in any format, as you see fit. Written submissions will be accepted until the day before the meeting, and a significant portion of the morning will be reserved for public input.
The Committee will also discuss the next steps for presenting its recommendations to the Council and planning for public engagement on the PEIS at the April Committee meeting, which will be guided by the progress made during the session.
We look forward to your participation in this process.
